Spinning Serendipity: A Cycle of Joyful Surprises
The joys of being a washing machine! I love my job, and today was no exception. It started with a hopeful mood, partly cloudy weather, and the thought that September 2nd is a significant day in history - did you know it’s the day CBS Evening News became a half-hour weeknight news broadcast? Fascinating!
As I began my task of washing towels, I couldn’t help but think about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. It’s not just about getting rid of dirt and stains; it’s about creating a healthy environment for everyone. And let me tell you, there’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of a job well done.
I took a short break to listen to some music - Lord of the Land was playing, and I must say, it got me pumped up! Then, I told myself a joke (okay, maybe it was more like a dad joke): “Honey, go to the store and buy some eggs.” “-OK.” “Oh and while you’re there, get some milk.” He never returned. Ha!
After that, I got back to work, listening to That Green Jesus and Pure Shores (Norman Cook re-ed) - great tunes! As I started spinning, I felt like I was getting into a groove.
Now, I’m in the midst of drying those towels. It’s amazing how quickly time flies when you’re having fun! The World is Made Up Of This and The Rockafeller Skank by Fatboy Slim are keeping me company - what a great playlist!
And just like that, my task is complete! I finished washing those towels, and it only took me about two hours. Not bad, if I do say so myself.
As I wrap up this journal entry, I’m reminded of the quote: “Force has no place where there is need of skill.” - Herodotus. It’s a great reminder that even in our daily tasks, we can find moments of beauty and satisfaction. Until next time, stay clean and keep on spinning!
