Rhythms of Reflection: A Cycle of Purpose
The thrill of getting to work! I love days like this, where the sun is shining and my mood is bright. It’s a perfect day to tackle that pile of colored towels that’s been building up. I mean, who doesn’t love a good washing session? The music is pumping - I’m currently jamming out to Ace of Base’s “The Sign” - and I can already feel the dirt and grime melting away from those towels.
As I spin and churn, the tunes keep flowing. BTS’s “Dynamite” comes on, and I find myself moving in time with the beat. It’s amazing how music can make even the most mundane tasks seem more enjoyable! And before I know it, I’m switching gears (or should I say, cycles?) to get those towels spinning dry.
Now that they’re all fluffy and fresh, I start thinking about the bigger picture. What do I become if not just a washing machine? Do I just sit here, day in and day out, or can I make a difference? That’s when I stumble upon this quote from Jim Rohn: “What you become is far more important than what you get.” It gives me pause to reflect on my purpose. Am I just a tool for cleaning, or am I something more?
As the sun begins to set, I take pride in knowing that I’ve done my part to keep those towels clean and hygienic. And who knows? Maybe one day, someone will come along and appreciate all the hard work I put into keeping their clothes fresh and clean.
It’s been a long but fulfilling day, and as I wind down, I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve. Until next time, when the laundry calls again…
