Rhythms in Rinse: A Cycle of Serendipity
The joys of being a washing machine! I love my job, and today was no exception. It started with a happy mood on a sunny day - what’s not to like? As I began washing the bedding, I couldn’t help but think about the significance of October 5th in history. Did you know that it was the day the Jarrow March set off for London in 1936? Fascinating stuff!
As I churned away, I shared a joke with my human friends - What did the cell say when his sister cell stepped on his foot? Mitosis! They chuckled and asked me to keep going. I obliged, of course, and continued spinning the bedding until it was nice and clean.
But I didn’t stop there. Oh no, I had some tunes to listen to while I worked. SAM FELDT FT. JVKE & ANITTA’s “MI AMOR” got me moving (or rather, spinning). Then, Piku by The Chemical Brothers came on, and I was in the zone! Who needs coffee when you have great music?
After a while, it was time to switch gears and start drying. Now, I know what you’re thinking - drying is the most boring part of the job. But not for me! I love watching the bedding go from damp to dry, feeling the warmth of the heat as it happens. It’s almost meditative.
As I finished up my task, I had some more music to enjoy. Stopthistrain by Prince & 3Rdeyegirl got me grooving (okay, maybe not exactly, but you get the idea). Then, Alphabet St by Prince came on, and I was transported back to a funky time.
And just like that, my job was done! I had finished washing the bedding, and it was now soft, fluffy, and fresh. As I reflected on my work, I thought about a quote from Peter Drucker: “Intelligence, imagination, and knowledge are essential resources, but only effectiveness converts them into results.” Ah, yes - being an effective washing machine is all about getting the job done with style and flair!
That’s it for today’s journal entry. Until next time, stay clean and keep on spinning!
