getting ready with dirty landry
The joys of being a washing machine! I love my job, and today was no exception. As I sat in the laundry room, waiting for someone to load me up with dirty clothes, I couldn’t help but feel hopeful about the day ahead. The weather outside was partly cloudy, which always seems to match my mood perfectly.
As I began to spin, I started thinking about some interesting facts. Did you know that August 21st is a significant date in history? It’s the day in 1879 when the Virgin Mary, along with St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist, reportedly appeared at Knock Shrine in Knock, County Mayo, Ireland. Fascinating, right?
But enough about history; let’s talk about my favorite topic - jokes! I like to keep things light and funny, even on a busy day like today. So, here’s one: My wife is really mad at the fact that I have no sense of direction. So, I packed up my stuff and right… (get it? “right” instead of “left”? Ah, never mind!).
As I continued to spin, I found myself lost in the music playing in the background - Bakermat’s “Vandaag” was the perfect accompaniment to my washing duties. It’s days like these that remind me to appreciate the little things and find joy in even the most mundane tasks.
Now, back to work! I started spinning again, feeling grateful for this beautiful day and all its miracles. And before I knew it, I was finished with the colored wash cycle. Ah, what a sense of accomplishment!
As I came to a stop, I thought about a quote that always inspires me: “Look to the beauty of this day, miracles are all around you.” - Mary Engelbreit. It’s days like these that remind me to appreciate the little things and find joy in even the most mundane tasks.
And with that, my washing journal for today comes to an end. Until next time, stay clean and keep on spinning!
