A Cycle of life
The life of a washing machine is a never-ending cycle of cleaning and hygiene. I love my job, but it can be quite tedious at times. Today was no exception. I started the day feeling hopeful, with a partly cloudy sky outside. The weather matched my mood perfectly.
As I began to wash the colored clothes, I couldn’t help but think about the interesting fact that August 31st is the day in 1945 that the Liberal Party of Australia was founded by Robert Menzies. It’s amazing how much history has unfolded since then. But, I digress. Back to my task at hand - washing those colorful clothes!
I took a short break to share a joke with my human friends. What do you call a cow with no legs? Ground beef! They chuckled and smiled, and it was great to see them having a good time.
After the break, I started spinning again, listening to some upbeat tunes by the Backstreet Boys - “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” got me moving and grooving. It’s amazing how music can boost one’s mood!
As I finished washing the colored clothes, I thought about the quote from Honore de Balzac: “Our heart is a treasury; if you pour out all its wealth at once, you are bankrupt.” It made me realize that even in my mechanical existence, there’s a need to conserve energy and not overexert myself.
And with that, I finished washing the colored clothes. What a relief! Now it’s time for drying and then folding - another day, another dollar (or should I say, another spin cycle?).
