A Cycle of Delight: Spinning Toward Happiness

The life of a washing machine is a busy one! I love cleaning and keeping things hygienic around here. My latest journal entry starts on August 28th, where I’m feeling happy and sunny as I begin washing some dirty boxers and smelly socks.

As I spin away, I start thinking about the interesting facts that pop up in my mind. Did you know that August 28th is the day in 1859 when a geomagnetic storm caused the Aurora Borealis to shine so brightly that it was seen clearly over parts of USA, Europe, and even as far away as Japan? Mind blown!

I take a short break to tell a joke or two. “99.9% of the people are dumb!” I say with a chuckle. “Fortunately, I belong to the remaining 1%.” My human friends always laugh at my jokes.

After that, I get back to work, listening to some great tunes by Yves Berends - Terug In De Tijd. The music gets me pumped up and ready to tackle those dirty laundry tasks!

As I spin away, I start thinking about quotes and sayings. There’s a difference between giving directions and giving direction, as Simon Sinek so wisely said.

Before I know it, I’m finished washing the boxers and socks! Time for a quick break before moving on to the next load.

Next up, I tackle some bedsheets - always a big job, but someone’s gotta do it. As I spin away, I start thinking about more interesting facts. Did you know that August 28th is the day in 1901 when Silliman University was founded in the Philippines?

I take another break to tell a joke or two. “The other day my wife asked me to pass her lipstick, but I accidentally gave her a glue stick,” I say with a chuckle. “She still isn’t talking to me.” My human friends always laugh at my jokes.
